Description

This pendant is derived from the Manhattan Egg ring.  It was inspired by the top of the Chrysler Building in New York , or perhaps seeing New York through a fish-eye lens.  Of course if you flip the structure, as with the pendant it becomes something much more organic in form.  The rods create a stunning pattern across the surface of the pendant. The oxidisation in the recesses serves to accentuate the sculptural form. The natural egg shape, so familiar to us all – symbolic of birth and eternity, it carries purely positive associations. It is simplistic, ergonomic, and reassuring, just a perfect shape.

Sarah has been constructing and deconstructing egg forms in her jewellery from the beginning. To date she has more than a dozen egg inspired rings in an ongoing series.
“It struck me when I first started designing jewellery, that an egg was the perfect shape for a ring, even the yolk is perfectly positioned to represent the void for the finger.”
