How to care for your Sarah Herriot jewellery

CARE CARD

SILVER WITH WHITE OR GOLD PLATE

Any pieces that have a combined appearance of silver and white, or gold plate, will have an anti-tarnish finish applied to stop the oxidisation of the silver. Do not put this item into an ultrasonic cleaner or silver dip, it will discolour the white / gold parts

Use a silver polishing cloth on the polished parts of the item

In the event the item needs the white/gold plate parts cleaning, it can be wash in warm soapy water, using a soft brush, and then dried well.

SILVER WITH BRUSHED SURFACES

These items may be cleaned by either washing in warm soapy water, put in an ultrasonic or silver dip. In all cases, pat dry as water residue can leave marks.

To re-brush, use a scotchbrite nylon dish cleaner, either in straight lines across the surface, or circles dependent on desired effect. If you feel anxious about this, try a small inner patch first. The workshop can redo this for you.

SILVER JEWELLERY WITH BRUSHED & OXIDISED SURFACES

These items may be cleaned by either washing in cold to luke warm water soapy water (never hot – this will remove the wax coating on the oxidised surface and make them look grey-ish). Pat dry as water residue can leave marks.

To re-brush, use a scotchbrite nylon dish cleaner, either in straight lines across the surface, or circles dependent on desired effect. If you feel anxious about this, try a small inner patch first. The workshop can redo this for you.

SILVER TENSION BANGLES

During the lifetime of a bangle, the tension may come off slightly, resulting in the smaller piece feeling ‘loose’ when done up. To rectify this, remove the smaller piece, and squeeze the larger piece gently (dependent on how strong you are) across the widest point. Now try fitting the small piece again. Repeat until desired tension attained.

If the smaller piece keeps popping out, it is very likely that the bangle is too small for you.
